HECKEL, BRUNK, KONRADE LEAD INMAN SCORING

BURRTON – The Inman boys basketball team finished off a successful week at the Burrton Invitational on Saturday by pounding Fairfield for a 77-23 victory and a third-place finish in the Invitational.
Jumping all over Fairfield in the first quarter and taking a commanding 15-point, 23-8 lead, the Teutons did not let up on the offense and closed out the first half with another 24 points while holding Fairfield to just three additional points to take a whopping 36-point, 47-11 advantage into the halftime break.
After putting yet another 20 points in the scorebook in the third quarter, the Teutons cruised in for the final 54-point winning margin.
“We played well this week,” said Teuton Head Coach Brett Froese. “We shot it much better tonight and our ball movement was really good.”
Tanner Heckel had a monster first quarter as he scored 11 points on his way to a team leading 21 points night. Also reaching double digits for the Teutons were Eli Brunk with 13 and Kyler Konrade who had 11, including three three-pointers while Brenton Thiessen finished with nine points, all in the second half.
Nine Teutons put points in the scorebook on the night.
One note, Heckel connected on 7-7 from the free throw line as he and Kyler Konrade were named to the All-Tournament team.
Now 5-7 for the season, the Teutons will play host to Berean Academy next Friday, January 29.
