OLANDER GETS DOUBLE-DOUBLE

LANGDON – The Little River girls basketball team played four quarters of consistent basketball on their way to scoring a 20-point, 52-32 win over host Fairfield in the Fairfield Girls Basketball Invitational on Thursday, giving them a trip to the tournament championship game on Friday.
Now 8-3 for the season, the Lady Redskins will play Central Christian on Friday evening for the tournament championship.
Little River went up 15-4 by the end of the first quarter before pushing their lead out to 19 at 29-10 going into the halftime break, then outscoring the Lady Falcons 23-13 in the final two periods to earn the 20-point victory.
Aubrey Olander had a huge game by getting a double-double with 20 points and pulling down 11 rebounds, whole also getting four steals on defense and blocking a shot.
Lily Boghfman also had a solid outing as she reached double digits with 14 points while also grabbing seven rebounds, dishing out a pair of assists then getting a pair each of steals and blocked shots on defense.
In his post-game reflections, Lady Redskin Head Coach Brent Clark said, “We won our semi-final game with Fairfield. Again, I think our offense is starting to gel.”
