OLANDER GETS DOUBLE-DOUBLE

LITTLE RIVER – It was total team effort for the Little River girls on Tuesday as they literally took apart the Solomon defense on their way to a convincing 55-23 win.

The Lady Redskins powered out to an 18-point, 21-3 lead by the end of the first quarter and extended the advantage to 22-points at 31-9 going into the halftime break before cruising through and getting a lot of players time on the court in the second half on their way to the final 32-point victory.

“We played a lot of kids,” pointed out Lady Redskin Head Coach Brent Clark during his post-game reflections. “The younger kids got some valuable playing time while Aubrey (Olander) had another double-double as she continues to improve. It was another good team effort.”

Olander, just a freshman, dominated the game as she recorded a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds along with six steals on defense.

Nine Lady Redskins put points by their name in the scorebook while 11 girls ad at least a couple of marks in the stat sheet.

Lily Boughfman had another solid game as well with eight points, six rebounds and five blocked shots while MeKenzie Renken raised some havoc of her own with six rebounds, three steals and a blocked shot.

Now 10-3 for the season, the Little River girls will travel to Canton/Galva on Friday.
