STANDOUT LB TO PLAY AT NEXT LEVEL

INMAN – Last week it was announced that Inman’s star linebacker Carter Brown had signed to continue his football career by playing for Dodge City Community Junior College in Dodge City, Kansas.

Carter is the son of Jon and Amber Brown and has been a leader for the Teuton football program throughout his high school career.

Nothing but good came from his senior season as he gained 5.34 yards per 49 carries at running back, covering a total of 262 yards while making eight pass receptions for another 94 yards and totaled nine touchdowns. When on offense, Carter was also the team kicker and converted 45-of-51 extra point attempts during the season.

While his offense was good, Carter’s senior season defensive stats were outstanding as he recorded 126 tackles which included nine tackles for a loss of yardage, one quarterback sack and two forced fumbles.

Teuton Head Football Coach Lance Sawyer is a big fan of Carter and his abilities, noting, “Carter had a phenomenal season for us. Not only was he a great player, he also gave us a physical edge that translated to the entire team. He treated all of his teammates with respect and his unselfishness spread throughout the locker room.”

Carter’s season was topped off by numerous post-season awards including Class 1A Defensive Player of the Year, 1st Team KFBCA All-State Senior Team, 1st Team Kansas All-Senior Team, 1st Team Wichita Eagle All-State, and 1st Team Topeka Capital All-State.

Coach Sawyer concluded his praises and reflections on having the opportunity to coach Carter by saying, “He left a mark on the Inman Football Program that will be remembered. He will most definitely be missed, but you can expect great things for him at Dodge City. We are so proud of what he has and will accomplish throughout his lifetime. We wish him continued success in all that he does.”
