GARRISON, LAFFERTY, ROLFS LEAD LITTLE RIVER

HERINGTON – Using another early offensive explosion, the Little River boys went on the road Thursday for a make-up game with Herington and put the hammer on the home team to the tune of a dominating 61-28 win.

The Redskins put 25 points on the scoreboard in the first eight minutes of play and then added another 16 in the second to hold a dominating 30-point, 41-11 halftime advantage before cruising in for the final 33-point victory.

Among the team stats that Little River showed domination were rebounds where they held a 22-12 edge and turnovers where the Redskin defense forced Herington into 17 mishandlings of their offense.

It helped that the Redskins shot 70% from two-point field range and 56% overall when you include three-pointers.

Little River was led by Jayden Garrison who connected on four three-pointers on his way to scoring 24 points while also leading the team on the boards with seven rebounds.

Braxton Lafferty also hit for double digits with 11 points while having the quick hands-on defense by making six steals to go with three rebounds and three assists.

Trey Rolfs and Graham Stephens just missed double figures as they chipped in with nine and eight points, respectively.

With the victory, the Redskins are now 16-0 for the season as they turn right around and go back on the road Friday to battle with the Eagles of Elyria Christian.
