INMAN – For the second time in a week, the Inman baseball program has a player signing to continue their career at the collegiate level as Landen Snyder signed his letter of intent to play baseball for Hutchinson Community Junior College.

Last week Carson Munoz signed to play baseball at Hesston College.

Landen is the son of Russ and Jill Snyder of Buhler.

Snyder is entering his senior season for the Teutons with previous accolades of earning All-Heart of America League Honors in both his freshman and sophomore seasons, his junior season was cancelled due to COVID-19.

He led the Teuton pitching staff in 2019 with 35 innings pitched, five wins, a 3.00 earned run average and one save in relief.

Teuton head baseball coach Matt Mikulecky noted, “Landen (Snyder) has excellent composure and command on the mound. He has been a big game pitcher for us each of his two seasons, earning wins in both his Regional starts, one of which was a no-hitter through five innings in the 2019 opening round of regionals. Landen’s ability to make in-game adjustments is something you do not see from many high school pitchers.”

Not only is Snyder the second Teuton baseball player to sign collegiately, he is the third overall Teuton to sign in the past three weeks to continue their careers when you include Carter Brown who signed to play football at Dodge City Community College.

Coach Mikulecky concluded his reflections on Snyder’s career by saying, “Landen has been Mr. Consistent every time he has taken the ball and his consistency isn’t just limited to performance, he brings a positive energy every day whether it be practice or game day. I am extremely happy for him and thrilled that he is continuing his baseball career at Hutchinson Community College.”
