HECKEL LEADS INMAN

By William

WHITEWATER – After you knock off the number one team in the state, many teams will have a let down but not Inman as the Teutons came back on the court Monday and went on the road to handily beat Remington/Whitewater 49-25.

The Teutons jumped out early to a nine-point, 16-7 lead by the end of the first quarter and pushed the advantage to a commanding 16-point, 27-11 by the halftime break. Inman closed it out with a strong third quarter where they outscored the home team 18-7 to take a 27-point lead into the final eight minutes of play and then settled in for the dominating final 24-point victory.

“Another good performance last night,” said Teuton head coach Brett Froese in his brief post-game reflections. “No let downs after the big win over Little River. Proud of our effort as we played super hard. (Tanner) Heckel got us going early and we never looked back.”

Tanner Heckel led the Teutons offense as he finished the game with 20 points, including three three-pointers all made in the first half. Heckel put up eight points in the first quarter thanks to his first two three pointers before adding five more in the second quarter.

Dawson Mannebach chipped in with seven points while both Jace Doerksen and Eli Brunk hit for six.

With the victory the Teutons are now 9-10 for the season as they close out the regular season schedule on Tuesday with a road trip to Herington.
