MOUNDRIDGE HITS 63% FROM FIELD, FOUR REACH DOUBLE DIGITS SCORING

MOUNDRIDGE – It was a dismantling from the opening tip as the Moundridge boys took control early of their game at home Tuesday and dismantled, then buried Ell-Saline 60-15.

Running out to an 18-point, 23-5 first quarter lead, the Wildcats held Ell-Saline to just two points in the second quarter while putting another 24 in the scorebook themselves to holding a commanding 40-point, 47-7 advantage as the teams hit the locker rooms for the halftime break.

“We stayed healthy and everyone contributed tonight,” noted Wildcat head coach Vance Unrau in his very brief post-game reflections. “New season starts on Monday.”

With the victory, the Wildcats finish their regular season with a 13-7 mark as they now prep for their substate beginning on Monday.

Four Wildcats hit for double figures in the scorebook led by Logan Churchill with 13 while both Korbin Wedel and Landon Kaufman had 12 and Jon Schlosser chipped in with 10. Kaufman and Corbin Unruh led the offense with five assists each as the team dished out 17 all together on 24 made field goals.

Schlosser topped Moundridge in the paint with seven rebounds while Unruh had the quickest hands with four of the teams 10 steals.

As a team the Wildcats shot a blistering 63% from the field and out rebounded Ell-Saline 21-6 while forcing the visitors into making 16 turnovers.
