GARRISON, LAFFERTY LEAD REDSKINS

Once they got past the first quarter the game was all Little River as they made the substate finals on Friday with a convincing 58-38 win over Goessel.

After leading by just three points, 14-11 at the end of the first quarter, the Redskins put up another 17 on the scoreboard in the second while holding Goessel to just six to take a comfortable 14-point, 31-17 advantage into the halftime break. After the intermission, the Redskins cruised on in for the final 20-point victory.

With the win, Little River is now 19-1 for the season and will tangle with Solomon in the substate finals on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. Solomon will bring a record of 17-5 to the game after beating Sylvan/Lucas 61-57 on Friday.

While the Redskin defense forced Goessel into 25 turnovers, their offense hit nine three-pointers.

Jayden Garrison led Little River with 26 points thanks to six three-pointers, while Braxton Lafferty hit for 19 while getting a pair of three-pointers, dishing out three assists, grabbing three rebounds, making four steals on defense, and blocking a shot.

Trey Rolfs may have only chipped in with five points, but he topped the team in assists with four, rebounds with seven and steals with four.
