4 NEW DEATHS – 6,564 VACCINES RECEIVED & GIVEN

MCPHERSON – On Thursday afternoon, the McPherson County Health Department released the newest Coronavirus/COVID-19 Report and the fourth report for the month of March showing just 6 new cases since the report on Thursday, March 4.

More good news comes from the report noting that only 1 individuals are currently hospitalized due to the pandemic.

The report did acknowledge there has been four new deaths from the Coronavirus/COVID-19 or complications caused by it.

An updated vaccine report showed no change in the number of vaccines received which is currently showing 6,564 vaccines have been received for use in McPherson County.

Full breakdown of all the numbers are as follows.

CASES TESTING POSITIVE & OTHER DATA #’S as of Thursday, March 11:

With Tuesday’s report, McPherson County has now recorded a total of 3,200 positive cases overall.

Of those 3,200 cases, 3,084 are now considered recovered according to the recovery guidelines set forth by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment or passed away while sick. This means the cases in McPherson County that are still considered active is 116.

Tuesday’s report does show that McPherson County has just one (1) individual currently hospitalized due to the Coronavirus/COVID-19, while also reporting that four (4) new deaths have been reported.

Total COVID-19 Vaccine Doses Received at MCHD since December 21, 2020:

UPDATED CASE DATA (# change since last report on Tuesday, March 9):

  • New cases since last public release = 6
  • Asymptomatic Cases = 68 (+ 1)
  • Cases with an unknown exposure = 1,515 (no change)
  • Cases involving those individuals 60 years and older = 977 (+ 2)
  • Cases involving those individuals 50-59 years old = 441 (+ 3)
  • Cases involving those individuals 40-49 years old = 407 (no change)
  • Cases involving those individuals 30-39 years old = 406 (no change)
  • Cases involving those individuals 18-29 years old = 642 (no change)
  • Cases involving those individuals under 18 years old = 327 (+ 1)
  • Female involved cases = 1,672 (+ 1)
  • Male involved cases = 1,528 (+ 5)
  • Those cases requiring Hospitalization (May not represent current hospitalizations) = 129 (+ 1)
  • Those cases requiring ventilation (May not represent any current ventilated cases) = 21 (no change)
  • Those cases resulting an individual’s death = 85 (+ 4)
  • Male COVID patients who have died by ages (56 total, + 2): 90+ (10); 80-89 (19); 70-79 (14); 60-69 (8); 50-59 (1); 40-49 (2); 30-39 (2)
  • Female COVID patients who have died by age (29 total, + 2): 90+ (11); 80-89 (11); 70-79 (3); 60-69 (4); 50-59 (0); 40-49 (0); 30-39 (0)

REGARDING & EVALUATING THE SCHOOL YEAR:

The McPherson County Health Department is working closely with key partners to evaluate the school year.

It is our goal to continue to keep the community informed.

The percent of positive cases out of how many McPherson County residents were tested during a 14-day period will facilitate the McPherson County Health Department recommendations.

Previously, the McPherson County Health Department would remove those being tested for preoperational reasons from the total number of those tested to better gauge the number of ill patients that were positive for COVID-19.

Starting September 11, the McPherson County Health Department will no longer remove preoperational tests from the number reported to represent community spread data more accurately.

The data reported below are not the only data that influences the recommendation to move to more-or-less restrictions.

Criteria that will influence the recommendation to move schools to more or less restrictive measures can be found on http://www.mcphersoncountyks.us on the home page under “COVID-19: Reopening McPherson County.”

CURRENT TRAVEL QUARANTINES GUIDELINES:

Both the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, and the McPherson County Health Department have updated their listing of required quarantine after traveling out of state.

They continue to mandate a 10-day home quarantine for Kansans if you have done any of the following:

  • Traveled on or after February 26 to the countries of Mayotte, Czechia, San Marino, Montenegro, or Seychelles.
  • Attended/traveled to a mass gathering event (out-of-state) of 500 people or greater where individuals did not do six-foot distancing and wear face masks.
  • Traveled on a cruise ship or a river cruise.
