WILDCATS FINISH 2ND & 3RD AT CANTON/GALVA INVITATIONAL

LOGUE GETS THREE INDIVIDUAL GOLDS

HILLSBORO – At the Canton/Galva Invitational that was moved to Hillsboro on Tuesday, the Moundridge track/field team scored a second place finish in the girls division and a third place finish in the boys division.

For the Lady Wildcats, Myiah Logue starred as she scored three individual golds by winnin the long jump, triple jump and 400 meters while Kourtney Kaufman placed second in the discus, Avery Rice ran second behind Logue in the 400 meters and Paityn Kaminkow finished second in the 300 hurdles.

The Lady Wildcats finished second in the team standings with 83 points behind first-place Hillsboro who rolled up 167 points.

For the Wildcat boys, Corbin Unruh had the only individual gold by winning the 100 meters but the Wildcats dominated the relays taking first in all three of them, the 4×800 meters, 4×400 meters and the 4×100 meters. Winning Moundridge gold in the relays was a combination of Landon Kaufman, Mac Unruh, Corbin Unruh, Logan Churchill and Garrett Doherty depending one which relay was running.

The Moundridge track/field team will return to competitive action next Tuesday at Fairfield.
