35 RUNS, 22 HITS IN 2 GAMES

BENNINGTON – The Moundridge softball team could not be much hotter than they were on Friday on the road at Bennington as they blasted their way to two dominating wins, 23-0 and 12-1.
In GAME ONE, the Lady Wildcats scored six times in the first, five in the second, a pair in the third and 10 in the fourth as they pounded the Bennington pitching for 18 hits and took advantage of 10 Bennington errors to score the 23-0 shutout victory.
McKenzie Elmore was unhittable on the mound for Moundridge as she threw just 43 pitches and allowed just a pair of hits while helping herself at the plate by going 3-for-3 with a home run, four runs batted in and three runs scored.
Also having perfect first games at the plate for Moundridge were both Erin Durst and Kindall Elmore as they also went 3-for-3 with both getting credit for four runs batted in and three runs scored while Kindall also powered out a home run.
Kate Eichelberger went 3-for-4 with a pair of runs scored, three runs batted in and a double while both Emily Durst and Addi Falco each had a pair of hits as well.
The bats slowed down in GAME TWO for the Lady Wildcats but yet they still put four runs on the board in the first, one in the third, four more in the fourth plus one in the fifth and another pair in the sixth to score the 12-1 win.
Moundridge only had four hits in game two with Emily Durst getting two of those while both Erin Durst and Kindall Elmore stole three bases.
Emily Durst did the work on the mound for the Lady Wildcats as she held Bennington to just four hits and no earned runs while walking just three and striking out two.
The wins evened the season record to 4-4 for the Lady Wildcats as they now prep to play nearby rivals Inman on the road Tuesday and Little River on the road on Thursday.
