BECKER GETS GOLD IN 3,200

BURRTON – It was a tough day for the Canton/Galva boys and girls track/field teams as they both finished fifth out of six teams on Tuesday at the Burrton Invitational.

The Lady Eagles picked up only 27 team points led by Emily Lance who scored in three of the four events where Canton/Galva picked up team points. Lance finished third in the 300-meter hurdles (pictured), while also fourth in the 100 meter hurdles and sixth in the 1,600 meters. Mimi Craig placed fifth in the shot put.

Morgan Becker led the Eagle boys by winning the 3,200 meters while Christian Darrah placed second right behind him. Canton/Galva boys also placed second in the 4×400 meter relay while Darrah finished third in the 800 meters and Tyson Struber got third in the 100 meters.

Staying busy, the Eagle track/field teams will back in action on Friday at the Hillsboro Invitational and then have two more invitationals next week as well as the season winds down.
