TEUTON BOYS WIN HILLSBORO INVITE

HECKEL, DOERKSEN, BRUNK EARN GOLD MEDALS

HILLSBORO – The Inman boys track/field team did enough on Friday to take the team title at the Hillsboro Invitational while the Inman girls performed well but finished tenth in the meet of 16 teams.

Three gold medals came home with the Teuton boys as Tanner Heckel won the long jump, Eli Brunk took first in the 110-meter hurdles and Jace Doerksen won the 300 meter hurdles. The Inman boys also placed athletes in the top four of eight other events as well, giving them the chance to score 88 points, 16 more than second-place Berean Academy while Hillsboro, Smoky Valley and Hesston rounded out the top five.

For the Lady Teutons, Claire Thiessen in the shot put and Madilyn Heflin in the 100-meter hurdles were the top finishers as they both placed second in their main events.

The Teuton track/field teams will be back on the competitive track on Tuesday at the Moundridge Invitational.
