OLIVIA PETERS GETS 2 GOLDS, LADY EAGLES FINISH 5TH

HILLSBORO – In a tough field of 17 teams, the Elyria Christian track/field teams competed well at the Hillsboro Invitational on Friday.

The Lady Eagles finished fifth in the team standings with 44 points as Smoky Valley, Leon/Bluestem, Larned and Berean Academy made the top four.

Olivia Peters led the Lady Eagles with two first-place finishes in the 200 and 400 meters. Kayla Peters placed second in the 1,600 meters and third in the 300 meter hurdles while Olivia Peters was third in the 100 meters.

The Elyria boys failed to score any team points though they finished close in several events.

Elyria will be back on the competitive track on Tuesday when they travel to Moundridge.
