MCPHERSON – With a media release Thursday afternoon, Shalei Shea of the McPherson County Health Department released statements regarding public gatherings, vaccinations and traveling.

CURRENT CASE TRENDS & VACCINATION RATES =

The McPherson County Health Department Recommends the Following beginning May 6, 2021:

  • No gathering limit when ALL PERSONS WEAR MASKS
  • Practice 6-foot distancing where possible.
  • If all persons in a gathering have been fully vaccinated for at least 2 weeks – Masks & Distancing may not be necessary.
  • Entities and businesses may continue to be MORE STRINGENT IN BOTH PRIVATE AND PUBLIC SITUATIONS AT THEIR DISCRETION.

Currently McPherson County is vaccinating anyone 16 years old and older for COVID0-19/CORONAVIRUS.

One may call the McPherson County Health Department at 620-241-1753, their local healthcare provider, or a pharmacy for an appointment.

You may also search for locations using www.vaccinefinder.org (16 & 17 years old individuals may only receive the Pfizer at this time).

AS OF MAY 5, 2021 – according to the Kansas Immunization Registry, KSWebiZ, 14,757 doses of the COVID-19/CORONAVIRUS vaccine has been administered to McPherson County residents. The majority of doses administered have been the Moderna vaccine – 10,413; the Pfizer vaccine – 3,798; and the Johnson/Johnson/Janssen vaccine – 546.

AS OF MAY 5, 2021, according to the CDC COVID Data Tracker (www.covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#county-view), 34.20% of the McPherson County population has been fully vaccinated. 44.10% of the population 18-years old and older are vaccinated and 76.60% of the population 65 years and older are also vaccinated.

TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS = The Kansas Department of Health and Environment and the McPherson County Health Department continue to MANDATE A 10-DAY QUARANTINE FOR KANSANS IF YOU HAVE DONE ANY OF THE FOLLOWING =

  • Traveled on or after April 22 to the state of Minnesota or the countries of Argentina, Aruba, Bahrain, Croatia, Cyprus, France, Sweden, or Turkey.
  • Traveled on or after April 8 to the state of Pennsylvania or the countries of Andorra, Bermuda, Curacao, Poland, Serbia, or Uruguay.
  • Traveled on or after March 26 to the states of Delaware, Michigan, Rhode Island, or the country of Hungary.
  • Traveled on or after March 12 to the states of New Jersey, New York, or the country of State of Palestine.
  • Traveled between April 8 – April 22 to the state of Connecticut.
  • Traveled between March 26 – April 22 to the country of Jordan.
  • Traveled between February 26 – April 22 to the country of San Marino.
  • Attended/Traveled to a mass gathering event out-of-state where 500 people or more we together and individuals did not wear masks and give 6-foot distancing.
  • Traveled on a cruise ship or been on a river cruise.
