HARRISON BRUNK EARNS GOLD

The Inman track/field teams participated in the Class 2A State Regionals on Friday and came home with sixth place finish for the girls and tied for third for the boys while qualifying Teutons for 14 events at state meet next weekend.

For the Lady Teutons, they finished with 33 points which was good for sixth out of 16 teams. Garden Plain, Leon/Bluestem, Berean Academy, Whitewater/Remington, and Hillsboro were the five teams finishing ahead of Inman.

Claire Thiessen had the top finish for the Lady Teutons when she placed second in the shot put while Willow Quillin also qualified for state in the event as well. Other Lady Teutons heading to state next weekend will be Madilyn Heflin in the 100 meters, Madelyn Brunk in the 800 meters and the 4×400 meter relay quartet of Brunk, Heflin, Dantlie Raney and Madison Burge.

The Teuton boys tied for third with Hillsboro with 67 points as Garden Plain and Berean Academy finished first and second.

Harrison Brunk had the highlight of the day for the Teutons with his winning the 100 meters. Tanner Heckel placed second in the long jump, Jace Doerksen finished second in both the 110 meter and 300 meter hurdles. Other events the Teutons qualified for state in were the 4×100 meter and 4×400 meter relays, along with Eli Brunk in the 300 meter hurdles, Harrison Brunk in the 200 meters and Heckel in the triple jump.
