4 FRESHMAN, 2 SOPHOMORES RUNNING

LITTLE RIVER – It will most definitely be a youth movement for Little River on Saturday in Wichita at the Class 1A State Track Meet as they will have participants in nine individual events and only one will be an upperclassman.
Most notable with the youth movement will be the Lady Redskin contingent as four of the five individuals competing will be freshman led by Ashley Stephenson in both the 800 meters and triple jump while Kate Ellwood is competing in the 100 meters and high jump, and Aubrey Olander is running the 300 meter hurdles and Alaina Eck is in the triple jump. The only non-freshman for the Lady Redskins in the individual events will be Lily Boughfman in the discus.
Both Stephenson in the triple jump and the 4×400 meter relay team won the regionals while Eck in the triple jump and Stephenson in the 800 meters placed second.
Also competing at state for the Little River girls will be the 4×100 meter and 4×400 meter relay quartets.
In the boys events, the Redskins will have two competitors and they are both sophomores as Treyton Olander will be doing the high jump and Braxton Lafferty is competing in both the triple jump and javelin.
