INMAN – While it has been a banner season for the Inman track/field teams with a school record being broken in the girls shot put and the boys bringing home the league championship, they look to close it out by finishing strong and gaining some medals in several events at Saturday’s Class 2A State Meet at Wichita.

The Teuton boys closed out the regular season by bringing Inman the Heart of America League champions trophy and after finishing third at regionals look to bring some medals home in several of the eight events which they have athletes competing.

Leading the team with hopes for medals will be freshman Tanner Heckel as he is ranked in the top five coming out of regionals for both the long jump and triple jump while also running a leg on the top five ranked Teuton 4×100 meter relay team along with Kendyn Blank, Dawson Mannebach, and Harrison Brunk.

Other strong contenders for medaling will be Jace Doerksen and Eli Brunk in the 300-meter hurdles, Harrison Brunk in the 100 and 200 meters and Doerksen in the 110-meter hurdles.

For the Lady Teutons, the strongest contender for medaling will be Claire Thiessen who is ranked third going into state for the shot put and set a school record more than once this season by throwing over 40 feet.

800 Meters = Madelyn Brunk (9).

4×400 Meter Relay = Team of Madelyn Brunk, Madilyn Heflin, Dantlie Raney, & Madison Burge (11).

Shot Put = Claire Thiessen (3) & Willow Quillin (13).

100 Meters = Harrison Brunk (9).

200 Meters = Harrison Brunk (9).
