WICHITA – For a team only entered in five events the Moundridge boys took care of business Saturday in Wichita at the Class 2A State Meet as they won the 4×100 meter relay and placed in the top three of three others to finish tied for fifth with 33 points and Wichita County.

The 4×100 meter relay team of Corbin Unruh, Garrett Doherty, Landon Kaufman and MacKaleb Unruh ran a 44.22 to outrun Oakley and Inman by nearly a full second of time in winning the state championship in the event.

Corbin Unruh added a pair of individual medals to his day by placing second in the 200 meters and sixth in the 100 meters. Landon Kaufman and MacKaleb Unruh earned three medals by being on all three of the top five finishing relay teams.

For the Lady Wildcats, just one athlete made state and Myiah Logue made sure people knew she was there as she placed second in the triple jump and fourth in the long jump.

Garden Plain won both the Class 2A boys and girls team titles.
