UP 38 CASES IN 7 DAYS

MCPHERSON – On Tuesday, August 3, the McPherson County Health Department reports showed there has been an upswing of new cases for COVID-19/Coronavirus as they now have 3,492 cases testing positive, an increase of 38 new cases since our last reporting the numbers just one week ago on July 27.

The report also showed that 3,360 cases were claimed to be or considered recovered according to the recovery guidelines set forth by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment or passed away while sick. The county shows 45 active cases as of August 3.

Currently there are three (3) individuals hospitalized due to COVID-19/Coronavirus while we have not recorded any new deaths, in fact the adjusted numbers now claim only 85 individuals have died due to complications from COVID-19/Coronavirus.

UPDATED CASE DATA (# change since last report on Tuesday, July 27):

  • New cases since our last report = 38
  • Cases with known exposure = 1,818 (+ 14)
  • Cases with an unknown exposure = 1,674 (+ 24)
  • Cases involving those individuals 60 years and older = 1,032 (+ 7)
  • Cases involving those individuals 50-59 years old = 470 (+ 3)
  • Cases involving those individuals 40-49 years old = 458 (+ 9)
  • Cases involving those individuals 30-39 years old = 462 (+ 9)
  • Cases involving those individuals 18-29 years old = 703 (+ 6)
  • Cases involving those individuals under 18 years old = 367 (+ 5)
  • Female involved cases = 1,826 (+ 20)
  • Male involved cases = 1,666 (+ 18)
  • Those cases requiring Hospitalization (May not represent current hospitalizations) = 145 (+ 2)
  • Those cases resulting an individual’s death = 85
  • COVID-19/Coronavirus Patients who have died by age = 90+ (23); 80-89 (28); 70-79 (18); 60-69 (12); 50-59 (1); 40-49 (1); 30-39 (2); 20-29 (0); 10-19 (0); 0-9 (0).

STATE VACCINATION AND COVID-19 #’s (As reported Tuesday, June 8):

  • Total Vaccinations Given: 2,523,820
  • Total # of COVID-19/Coronavirus Cases: 328,755
  • Total # of Deaths: 5,243
  • Total # that have been Hospitalized: 11,541
  • Total # of Tests Taken: 3,185,474

UPDATED TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS (these do not apply if you have been fully vaccinated for at least 2 weeks and are considered asymptomatic)

Both the KDHE (Kansas Department of Health and Environment) and MCHD (McPherson County Health Department) continue to mandate a 10-day quarantine for Kansans if:

  • Traveled on or after June 17 to the countries of Kuwait, Mongolia, or Saint Martin
  • Traveled on or after June 3 to the countries of Chile, Colombia, Paraguay, or Suriname
  • Traveled on or after May 30 to countries of Costa Rica or French Guiana
  • Traveled on or after May 6 to the countries of Maldives or Seychelles
  • Traveled on or after April 22 to the countries of Argentina or Bahrain
  • Traveled on of after April 8 to the country of Uruguay
  • Traveled between June 3 and June 17 to the countries of Trinidad or Tobago
  • Traveled between May 6 and June 17 to the country of India
  • Attended/Traveled to a mass gathering event out-of-state of 500 people or greater where individuals did not keep 6-foot distances and wear masks
  • Traveled on a cruise ship or took a river cruise
