19 NEW ACTIVE CASES, 1 NEW DEATH RECORDED

MCPHERSON – According to the COVID-19 Dashboard listing on the website for the McPherson County KS Health Department, the County has increased in positive cases by 31 just since the numbers we reported on Tuesday, August 17.

According to the website, McPherson County now has 3,632 positive cases to date.

The new death reported involved someone between the age of 60-69.

Regarding Vaccination information, the following was listed on the website:

  • 44 Cases were considered Vaccine Breakthrough cases
  • 2 Cases involving Vaccine Breakthrough individuals ended up hospitalized
  • The death reported was not a Vaccine Breakthrough
  • Explanation = A vaccine breakthrough case is defined as the detection of COVID-19 via antigen or PCR testing from a person that is at least 14 days past completing all recommended doses of a U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-authorized COVID-19 vaccine

Other new information on readings from the website today include:

  • 9 new cases involve those over the age of 65
  • 10 new cases involve those between 19-29 in age
  • 5 new cases involve those under the age of 18
  • 4 new cases involve those between 40-49 in age
  • 3 new cases involve those between 30-39 in age
