CANTON – Beginning her fourth season as the Canton/Galva volleyball coach, Cloe Hedlund is hoping to bounce back from a disappointing 2020 season even though the Lady Eagles will have to do it with just nine players.

The Lady Eagles graduated four key seniors in Emily Peterson, Madi Leach, Michaela Jowers and Alexa Bell from a team that finished just 7-18 for the season.

Returning to lead the team for 2021 will be outside hitter Taygen O’Hara, setter Brecken Pearson, and outside hitter Nicole Miller while Coach Hedlund is counting on newcomer Lili Espinoza to pump some life into the program.

“We are a very small team this year with only nine players,” noted Coach Hedlund. “Everyone will get some great playing time. We do have several players that played a lot of varsity in 2020, so that will be an asset to have their leadership on the court.”
