INMAN – The Canton/Galva volleyball team opened their 2021 season on Tuesday with a three-set dual on the road at Inman and lost.

It was a bit of a rough evening for the Lady Eagles as they lost all three sets 4-25, 12-25, 9-25 to the Lady Teutons.

Nicole Miller did record four kills and a pair of aces while Lili Espinoza made five digs to help lead Canton/Galva.

Other notable stat leaders were Taygen O’Hara with six digs and three kills, Brecken Pearson with eight assists and three digs while Emma Herrera scored a pair of digs.

“Inman has a great varsity team with lots of powerful hitters and they ran their offense well,” explained Lady Eagle Head Coach Chloe Hedlund in her post match refelctions. “We played well at many points in the game and there were some good offensive and some good defensive moments throughout. Our team cam together well, and we started to pick it up in the second and third sets. It is exciting to start our season and continue to work towards getting a win.”

Next up for the Lady Eagles will be on Tuesday, September 7 when have their first home match of the season by hosting Little River.
