MCPHERSON – In a Thursday release of new numbers, the McPherson County Health Department reports that 60 more individuals have tested positive since the report on Tuesday, August 31, giving the County a total now of 3,835 cases.

Among other numbers on the new report, McPherson County now has 8 individuals that are currently hospitalized with Covid-19, an increase of one while 1 new death has also been added, giving the county a total of 87 deaths. The latest death appears to be someone over the age of 90.

A sizable increase in active cases showed up on the report with the County now showing 150 active Covid-19 cases compared to just 102 on Tuesday.

As for the number of new cases, the largest increase comes from those under the age of 29 with a total of 31 new cases. Those aged 18-29 had an increase of 18 new cases while those aged 0-17 increased by 13. The only other age group in double digits was those 40-49 with 10.

Of the 60 new cases, 41 came from known origin while 19 were unknown. It was split down the middle for male and female as female new cases went up 31 and males went up 29.
