TESCOTT – They may only be competing with two runners, but the Canton/Galva cross country team has two of the state bests and they proved that on Monday as the Eagles took first and second in the boys division at the Tescott Invitational.
Morgan Becker, who finished in the top-10 at the state meet a year ago, began his senior season winning the boys division with a crisp 17:08 run which easily outpaced all but one runner.
The only runner to finish within 30 seconds of Becker was fellow Eagle harrier, Christian Darrah, and he ran a 17:12 to place second.
Freshman Garrett Silsby competed in the junior varsity run and placed 6th with a time of 23:29.
Also competing for Can ton/Galva in the junior high 1,600-meter run was seventh-grader Cane Krase who finished 12th with a time of 9:31.
Next up for the dynamic Eagle duo runners will be on Thursday when they compete in the always big Hesston Invitational.
