2 NEW DEATHS – VACCINATIONS STILL BELOW 50%

MCPHERSON – In an updated report from the McPherson County Health Department on Tuesday, September 7, the county continues showing an upswing in positive cases for Covid-19/Coronavirus as they reported 65 new cases since last Thursday which makes 124 since the last time that we gave a full report on August 31.

This means that McPherson County has reached an even 3,900 total cases overall or an increase of 364 new cases in the past four weeks.

While there are still eight (8) individuals listed as being hospitalized just as they did on Thursday, the County did record another two (2) deaths since last Tuesday. Those three new deaths were ages 70 and older.

Of the 124 new cases in the past week, half of them, 63 total, came from those 29 years of age or younger, 21 of those under the age of 17.

The number of recovered cases now sits at 3,687.

As for the vaccination rate of McPherson County, they still sit well below 50% of those eligible as just 44.9% have now been vaccinated, an increase of just .6% in a week. According to the newest numbers, 82.8% of those over the age of 65 have been vaccinated.

  • Cases involving those individuals 30-39 years old = 516 (+ 19)
  • Cases involving those individuals 18-29 years old = 825 (+ 42)
  • Cases involving those individuals under 18 years old = 437 (+ 21)
  • Female involved cases = 2,042 (+ 60)
  • Male involved cases = 1,858 (+ 64)
  • Those cases requiring Hospitalization (May not represent current hospitalizations) = 165 (+ 5)
  • Those cases resulting an individual’s death = 89 (+ 3)
