LITTLE RIVER – The Elyria Christian volleyball team made a trip to Little River on Tuesday and came home with a split in matches with Little River and Canton/Galva.
In their first match of the day, the Lady Eagles were dominated by powerhouse Little River, losing in straight sets 25-15, 25-14. Ryland Hawkinson and Alexus Swenson led Elyria with seven blocks and 15 digs respectively.
Elyria was able to bounce back in a huge way in the match with Canton/Galva as they dominated throughout and scored a straight set (25-16, 25-15) victory. Among the team leaders were Ryland Hawkinson with six kills and four aces on serves, Kylee Penner with 13 digs and four blocks, and Alexus Swenson who scored four aces on serves while making 12 digs as well.
Next up for the Lady Eagle spikers will be on Thursday when they go on the road to battle Berean Academy.
