The Elyria Christian volleyball team went on the road Thursday to Berean Academy and came home with a split of two matches with host Berean Academy and Bluestem.

In the first match of the day, the Lady Eagles beat Bluestem in straight sets 25-23, 25-19 as Macy Reiff recorded 13 digs, Julia Allen made 12 digs and Ryland Hawkinson scored nine kills.

Elyria closed out the trip with a loss in straight sets to host Berean Academy (14-25, 21-25) as Reiff again led the team in digs with 16 while Kylee Penner scored six kills.

In Junior Varsity play the Lady Eagles had similar results as the lost to Berean Academy (17-25, 18-25) before beating Bluestem (25-21, 18-13). Addison Swenson led the junior varsity against Berean Academy with three kills and six digs while against Bluestem the top stats came from Raegan Hawkinson as she made seven digs and recorded a pair of serves aces.

Next up for the Lady Eagle spikers will come on Tuesday, September 21 when they play host to Goessel, and Wichita Classical.
