MCPHERSON – McPherson County continues to hover near the 100 mark for Covid-19 cases each week as the newest report from the McPherson County Health Department on Tuesday, September 21 shows 96 new cases since the previous Tuesday.

This number brings the overall number of positive cases to-date at 4,088 and evens the average number of new cases out to 92 per week for the past six weeks. The number of those considered recovered is 3,895, while 104 are listed as active.

While to date there have been 173 county residents that required hospitalization from Covid-19, only six (6) are currently hospitalized.

Another good mark hit was that no new deaths were recorded.

The newest report showed 22 new cases involving those ages 0-17 while those over the age of 60 recorded 25 new cases.

As for vaccinations in McPherson County, the overall percentage of those fully vaccinated did go up by .5% to 46.1%, but still sits well below the 50% mark. Those over the age of 65 have had a vaccination rate of 83.3% while those between the ages of 12-64 have had 54.6% vaccinated.
