WAKEFIELD – The Canton/Galva volleyball team took a road trip on Tuesday to Wakefield and came home with a split of two matches with Wakefield and Solomon.

It took the Lady Eagles three extremely tough and tight scoring sets to defeat Solomon (15-25, 26-24, 25-21) but in doing so the girls earned their first win of the 2021 season.

“We were very excited to get our first win of the season,” noted Lady Eagle head coach Cloe Hedlund in reflecting on the two matches. “The girls played hard and were aggressive in the first match against Solomon. It was great to see their fight and will to come back to win.”

Against host Wakefield, things did not go as well for the Lady Eagles as they lost in straight sets 17-25, 16-25.

Next up for the Lady Eagle spikers will be another road trip on Thursday when they travel to Burrton to battle both Burrton and Elyria Chrstian.
