LINCOLN – The Little River football team did not complete a pass on Friday night, but it did not stop them from running over Lincoln to score a dominating 51-6 road victory.

Braxton Lafferty opened the scoring early in the first quarter for Little River with a three-yard dive into the end zone before Rylan Konen put the Redskins up by two scores with a 50-yard scamper next time they had the ball. After Lincoln put their lone score on the board, Lafferty scored his second touchdown of the game, this time on a 13-yard run, giving the Redskins a 22-6 lead.

While Konen and Lafferty both added scoring runs of one and 37 yards early in the second quarter, Braden Young took his turn by closing out the Redskin scoring with touchdown runs of five and 24 yards to give Little River the final 51-6 victory.

Konen threw just four passes and did not complete any as Little River counted on the run game to gain the win.

Lafferty led the Redskins with 129 yards rushing on just eight carries or 16.1 yards every time they gave him the football. Konen rambled for 81 yards on just five carries as the Redskins covered 256 yards on just 19 carries on the ground.

Defensively, Little River held Lincoln to just 67 yards on 39 offensive plays, including just 24 yards on 23 carries running the ball. Overall, it came out to giving up just 1.7 yards per offensive play.

The Redskin defense was led by Ty Herzog and Kyle Bruce with five and four tackles respectively, with the team forcing Lincoln into two lost fumbles.

Now 4-0 on the season, the Redskins will prep for the huge home field matchup next Friday with top-ranked Canton/Galva.
