LAWRENCE – The Inman cross country program sent two runners to Lawrence on Saturday to run in the Rim Rock Cross Country Classic and came away with a season’s best for one.

Lauren Aden ran her seasons best race with a time of 22:32.70 which placed her 52nd out of 239 runners while Hannah Martisko finished 197th with a run of 27:02.80.

It was the first time for both Lady Teutons to run at Rim Rock.

“Both Lauren (Aden) and Hannah (Martisko) competed against 239 other runners in the Girls’ Blue Division race,” explained Lady Teuton head coach Jay Parsons. “Lauren ran a season best time which was previously run at Bennington, a much faster flat course compared to the one at Rim Rock. Hannah’s season best was also at Bennington so her time at Rim Rock was very respectable when comparing the difference in the two courses.”

Coach Parsons concluded his reflections on the run by adding, “I didn’t see the whole course, but what I did see I can honestly say it was a challenge. There were some quick down hills along with some quick up hills. I even heard Hannah comment ironically, ‘It was a stroll in the park’. So, to say they ran very well on a tough course is saying quite a bit about their determination and strength.”

Next up for the Teuton harriers will be on Thursday, September 30 when they run at a meet being hosted by Berean Academy at Harvey County Lake East.
