MCPHERSON – According to the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE), McPherson County still has two listings on the most recent listing of cluster groups of positive Covid-19 cases as of Wednesday, September 29.

According to the KDHE, a Covid-19 cluster is considered when a facility produces more than five (5) positive cases in a period of 14 days.

Bethany Village, a long-term care facility in Lindsborg remains on the list and showed an increase of six cases, bringing their listing to 21 on the cluster listing.

While the McPherson High School football team is no longer on the list, the McPherson County Jail has been added with 10 new cases.

Other cluster listings within the Central Kansas area include Tabor College in Hillsboro with 25 cases, both Goessel and Hillsboro Elementary Schools showing six cases and Newton High school with five.

The KDHE also reports that McPherson County is now testing out at 144.7 positive cases per 1,000 residents, a slight increase of 3.4 cases per 1,000 in the past week.

McPherson County also showed 32 cases of the variant.
