MCPHERSON – The county continues to roll along with at least 10-12 new cases per day on average of Covid-19/Coronavirus as the newest report from the McPherson County Health Department released on Wednesday morning, October 6 showed 85 new cases in the past week.

McPherson County has now totaled 4,257 cases overall with 4,063 currently being recorded as recovered while 104 are still listed as active cases.

There are currently five individuals hospitalized from Covid-19/Coronavirus issues. Good news, no new deaths were reported.

The youngest ones again were the hardest hit as 26 of the new positive cases came from those ages 0-17, nearly double the next closest age group which were those over the age of 60 with 14 new cases and those ages 40-49 with 13.

As for vaccination rates, the County rose another minimal .5% in the past week to 47.1% overall being fully vaccinated. 83.6% of those over 60 are listed as vaccinated while those 12-59 years in age have a vaccination rate of 55.1%.

There has now been 144 cases considered breakthrough cases with six being hospitalized and just three having died.
