MCPHERSON – The McPherson Middle School girls tennis team closed out their 2021 regular season on Thursday with a 15-6 victory over Salina Lakewood.

In single matches the Junior Lady Pups won 10 of 14 matches with Maryn Sandbo, Dragon Rodriguez, Piper VanCampen, and Ady Crocker all scoring 6-0 shutout wins.

During the doubles competition, McPherson also scored a win by taking victory in five of seven matches.

Junior Lady Pup head coach Paul Reichenberger praised his girls during his post-meet reflections, saying, “Tonight was a great way to end our regular season. The girls played well against Salina Lakewood and it was evident tonight that every girl on the team has improved since our first dual of the season. It has been fun coaching this group.”

Up next for the McPherson Junior Lady Pup tennis squad will be the league championship meet on Monday, something which Coach Reichenberger feels good about, even thinking they have a shot at the league title.
