INMAN – The Inman football team continues to roll over opponents as they hammered visiting Ell-Saline at home on Friday with a 60-0 victory.

With the shutout, the top-ranked in Class 1A (according to maxpreps.com) Teutons are now 6-0 on the season and have pitched shutouts in five of the wins, giving up just three points on the season while scoring 354 points themselves.

Inman scored five times in the first quarter as Tanner Heckel rambled in twice from 32 and 15 yards while Kyler Konrade returned an intercepted pass for a score and Kendyn Blank scored twice, once on a 30-yard pass play from Jace Doerksen and the other on a 63-yard punt return.

Teuton quarterback Jace Doerksen broke loose for a 47-yard scoring dash in the second quarter before Blank scored for the third time in the game, this time on a short three-yard plunge into the end zone to give the Teutons a commanding 54-0 lead at the halftime break.

Talon Welch broke loose for a 25-yard scoring jaunt late in the fourth quarter to give Inman the final 60-0 victory.

Defense once again left its mark on the field for the Teutons as they held Ell-Saline to a measly 38 yards on 34 offensive plays which included just 16 yards on the 23 times they attempted to run the ball. Twelve Teutons recorded tackles in the stat book with none having more than a pair of total tackles, a total team effort.

As for Inman, Doerksen completed 3-of-4 passes for 68 yards while also running the ball twice for 57 yards.

The leader of the offensive attack was Kendyn Blank as he ran the ball just seven times for 121 yards and then caught two passes for another 40 yards. Combined with his 63-yard punt return for a touchdown, Blank accounted for 224 total yards in the game on just 10 touches of the ball.

Tanner Heckel also went over 100 yards rushing as he ran for 119 yards on six carries. Blank and Heckel averaged 18.5 yards every time they carried the ball in the game.

Next up for the Teutons will be a road trip to play Remington next Friday. Remington lost 56-14 to Sedgwick on Friday.
