MCPHERSON – For the second week in a row, the McPherson County Health Department reported more than 90 new Covid-19/Coronavirus cases with the report on Tuesday, October 19 showing 91 new cases since we last reported numbers a week ago.

This now gives the county a total of 4,442 cases overall with 4,244 considered recovered while currently 105 are listed as active cases.

There are currently four (4) individuals currently hospitalized due to Covid-19/Coronavirus with the total number of county residents that spent time in the hospital is 190.

The MCHD also reported that two more individuals passed away due to the virus or complications caused by it. This brings the total number of county residents who have died from it to 93. The two (2) newest deaths were both female with one aged 50-59 and the other aged 40-49.

As for the ages of those testing positive, those over the age of 60 increased by 22 cases, those under the age of 17 increased by 21 while those aged 18-29 and 30-39 increased by 19 and 15, respectively.

When it comes to vaccinations, the county rate should another small half percent increase to 47.8 for those fully vaccinated while those 65 and older evened at to 84% and those 12-65 rose slightly to 55.9%.

Anyone worried about breakthrough cases, the number of breakthrough cases rose to 193, while those breakthrough cases requiring hospitalization is still at seven and those who passed away remained at three.
