MCPHERSON – In the latest Covid-19/Coronavirus Report by the McPherson County Health Department on Tuesday, October 26, the County saw 82 new cases in the past week.
This now give the county a total of 4,524 total cases overall with 4,332 considered recovered while there are currently 97 active cases.
At the moment McPherson County has six (6) individuals currently hospitalized due to Covid-19/Coronavirus while the total number of individuals who have required time in the hospital stands at 195 overall.
The MCHD did report that one more individual passed away due to the virus or complications caused by it which brings the total number of county residents who have dies from Covid-19/Coronavirus to 94. The latest individual that passed away was in the age group of 70-79 years old.
The largest increase of positive cases came from those over the age of 60 as they showed 25 new cases while the ages of 18-29 reported 19 new cases, the age group of 0-17 had 14 and the age group of 30-39 reported 13.
As for vaccinations in the county, the overall rate has finally nearly reached the 50% range as it increased by nearly a full percent to 49.7% which is up from 48.7% previously.
Those who worry about the breakthrough cases, the number of breakthrough cases rose to 214 while those breakthrough cases requiring hospitalization is still at seven and those who passed away remained at just three.

- Female involved cases = 2,350 (+ 39)
- Male involved cases = 2,174 (+ 43)
- Those cases requiring Hospitalization (May not represent current hospitalizations) = 195 (+ 5)
