LITTLE RIVER – The Little River football continued their run toward a second state championship on Thursday evening when they host Valley Falls in the first round of the 8-Man Division I state playoffs, winning 60-0.

With the victory, the Redskins remain unbeaten at 9-0 for the season and will play host to Burlingame on Friday, November 5. The Bearcats will come into the game 6-2 on the season after they rolled past Bennington 46-0 on Thursday.

For Little River, Rylan Konen had a hand in four of the five touchdowns in the first quarter as he ran in for two scores from thirteen and six yards out, threw a 19-yard touchdown to Grant Stephens before closing out the quarter by being on the receiving end of a 26-yard scoring pass from Braxton Lafferty. Lafferty had the other Redskin score on a five-yard run.

In the second quarter, Grant Stephens scored on a two-yard plunge into the end zone while Ty Herzog took a six-yard pass from Konen in for a score before Lafferty finished out the scoring with a 31-yard scamper into the end zone to give the Redskins the final 60-0 win.

The Little River defense held Valley Falls to under two yards per offensive play as they only gained 71 yards on 36 snaps on offense. The Redskin defense was led by Ty Herzog.

Offensively, the Redskins rolled up 284 yards in offense on just 32 plays with 233 of those yards coming from run plays. Lafferty rambled for 88 yards on just eight carries while Konen covered 63 yards on seven totes of the ball.

Little River made the best of their passing plays as Lafferty and Konen combined to connect on three-of-four passes for 51 yards, while all three completions went for touchdowns.
