MCPHERSON – In the 10 days since our last reporting on the Covid-19/Coronavirus cases in McPherson County, the McPherson County Health Department is reporting 134 new cases.
This now gives the county an overall total of 4,658 cases with 4, 429 being considered recovered while they also report 132 active cases, an increase of 35.
The report by the MCHD also showed seven (7) individuals are currently hospitalized due to Covid-19/Coronavirus which means the total number of individuals who have required hospitalization has now hit the mark of 200.
Since our last report on October 26, three (3) individuals have passed away, bringing the total number of deaths from Covid-19/Coronavirus in McPherson County to 97. Those listed as having died from Covid-19 or complications from it included individuals ages 70-79, 60-69, and 50-59.
One concern could be the fact that the largest number of new positive cases has come from those aged 0-17 with 36 new cases. Those over the age of 60 had an increase of 28 while individuals between the ages of 18-29 showed an increase of 25. All age groups saw a rise of at least 10-36 new cases.
Vaccination numbers within McPherson County has now reached the 50% mark at 50.1%, in an increase of just .4% in 10 days.
Those who worry about breakthrough cases, the number of breakthrough cases rose to 253 while the number of breakthrough cases requiring time in the hospital rose to nine (9).

- Cases with an unknown exposure = 2,083 (+ 48)
- Cases involving those individuals 60 years and older = 1,279 (+ 28)
- Cases involving those individuals 50-59 years old = 574 (+ 10)
- Cases involving those individuals 40-49 years old = 604 (+ 18)
- Cases involving those individuals 30-39 years old = 621 (+ 17)
- Cases involving those individuals 18-29 years old = 951 (+ 25)
- Cases involving those individuals under 18 years old = 629 (+ 36)
- Female involved cases = 2,413 (+ 63)
- Male involved cases = 2,245 (+ 71)
- Those cases requiring Hospitalization (May not represent current hospitalizations) = 200 (+ 5)
- Those cases resulting an individual’s death = 97 (+ 3)
- COVID-19/Coronavirus Patients who have died by age = 90+ (24); 80-89 (30); 70-79 (21); 60-69 (15); 50-59 (3); 40-49 (2); 30-39 (2); 20-29 (0); 10-19 (0); 0-9 (0).
