MCPHERSON – In the week since our last report, the new number of Covid cases in McPherson County has increased by 124 according to the numbers report released on Tuesday by the McPherson County Health Department.

With the newest numbers, the McPherson County area now has had an overall total of 5,240 Covid-19/Coronavirus cases with 4,982 being considered recovered.

The number of active cases in the county has risen from 139 to 160, an increase of 21.

One troubling report is the number of cases hospitalized due to Covid which now stands at 14, an increase of eight over a week ago.

Of the 124 new cases, the largest increase in numbers came from those over the age of 60 with 33 new cases while 26 new cases were detected in those aged 30-39 and 22 in those ages 18-29.

Only .4% of new vaccinations were reported in the last week, leaving McPherson County with just 52.7% vaccinated.

Breakthrough cases increased to 374.

  • Those cases resulting an individual’s death = 98 (No Change)
