MCPHERSON – The McPherson County Health Department released a new Covid-19/Coronavirus report early on Friday, December 17, showing an increase of 58 new cases in less than three days since the previous report on Tuesday evening.
With the newest numbers, the McPherson County area now has had an overall total of 5,298 Covid-19/Coronavirus cases with 4,992 considered recovered.
The number of active cases within the county has risen to 207, an increase of 47.
While the current number of county residents hospitalized due to Covid as decreased by three to just 11, the new report did show a single (1) new death. The individual who passed away from complications due to Covid was aged 70-79.
Fourteen (14) of the new cases came from those residents over the age of 60 while 11 came from those under the age of 17.
The percentage of fully vaccinated county residents rose just .1% in three days to 52.8%.
Breakthrough cases did rise to 404, including the individual who passed away.

- Male involved cases = 2,561 (+ 34)
- Those cases requiring Hospitalization (May not represent current hospitalizations) = 247 (+ 2)
- Those cases resulting an individual’s death = 99 (+ 1)
