MCPHERSON – The McPherson County Health Department released a new Covid-19/Coronavirus report on Tuesday afternoon, December 21, and it showed an increase of 95 new cases in the four days since the previous report on Friday, and an increase of 153 since their report a week ago.

With the new numbers, the McPherson County area now has had an overall total of 5,393 Covid-19/Coronavirus cases with 5,117 currently considered recovered.

The number of active cases within the county did drop significantly to 177 since Friday’s report.

Only eight (8) current cases were reported as being hospitalized and there were no new deaths appearing in the new report.

As for the new cases, 20 came from those aged over 60, and 19 from those aged 30-39 while all age groups had increases in double digits.

The percentage of full vaccinated county residents rose another .3% to 53% since Friday.

Breakthrough cases rose again to a total of 432.

According to the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, as of December 12, the PCR Positivity Rate for McPherson County is 20.99%.
