LITTLE RIVER – Despite playing without their all-stater, Lily Boughfman, the Little River girls still dominated on the home court and scored a 38-point, 56-18, victory over Wakefield on Friday.

The Lady Redskins jumped out to a 14-point, 16-2, lead by the end of the first quarter and held a commanding 25-point, 33-8, advantage entering the halftime break before cruising on in during the final two quarters to earn the final 38-point win.

As a team the Lady Redskins connected on a hot 57% of their shots from the field while finding time to grab 16 steals on defense.

“We played very well tonight against Wakefield,” noted Lady Redskin head coach Brent Clark. “Several players stepped up tonight as we were playing without both Lily and Elsie Boughfman. I thought Alaina (Eck) played her best game of the season so far while Raelynn Welsh came off the bench and played well also. Aubrey (Olander) had another solid game across the board statistically. Overall, it was a wonderful team effort.”

Three Lady Redskins reached double digits in the scorebook led by Sophomores Alaina Eck and Aubrey Olander with 15 and 14 points, respectively, while senior Raelynn Welsh chipped in with 12.

Olander also led the team in rebounds with eight six Lady Redskins recorded at least a pair of rebounds by their name in the scorebook. Both Eck and Kate Ellwood made four steals with Amaya Sneath and Welsch each grabbing three.
