LITTLE RIVER – A huge second quarter propelled the Little River girls to an 18-point, 49-31 victory at home over Rural Vista on Friday evening.

The win raised the season mark for the Lady Redskins to 7-1.

After having a game postponed earlier in the week due to illnesses, the Lady Redskins were ready to get back on the court and they did, taking an immediate seven-point, 12-5, lead by the end of the first quarter before pouring 24 points on the board in the second quarter and moving out to a commanding, 23-point, 26-13, advantage heading into the halftime break.

While Rural Vista outscored Little River in the second half 18-13, the Lady Redskins large lead held for the final 18-point win.

‘We won and played very well in spurts,” noted Lady Redskin head coach Brent Clark. “It was good to have back on the court all our players at the same time. The ones that had been out were a little rusty, hopefully we can keep everyone healthy.”

Aubrey Olander and Lily Boughfman both reached double digits in the scorebook for the Lady Redskins with 11 and 10 points, respectively. Alaina Eck just missed double figures with nine.

Olander and Boughfman also topped the work in the paint and led the team with five rebounds each while Boughfman also topped the Lady Redskins in both assists and steals, putting four in each of those columns on the night.

Twelve Lady Redskins put marks in the scorebook by their name for at least a couple of stats, including 10 with at least one rebound, eight with at least one assist, and eight with at least two points.
