BURLINGAME – They only had one game to play this week the Little River girls made the most of it as they traveled to Burlingame on Friday to battle with the top-ranked Lady Bearcats and came home with a solid team effort that produced a 14-point, 43-29 victory.

Now 9-1 on the season, the Lady Redskins will be playing in the Fairfield Tournament beginning on Monday.

The two teams played sluggish in the first quarter and were tied at 9-9 heading into the second quarter where the Lady Redskins managed to take a one-point, 19-18, lead into the halftime break.

Coming out of the intermission the Lady Redskins put 13 and 11 points on the scoreboard in the final two stanza’s while holding the Lady Bearcats to just 11 total to gain the final 14-point upset win.

Little River connected on 45% of their shots from the field while their defense managed to block seven shots and steal the ball from the Lady Bearcats 17 times.

Lily Boughfman in scoring with 17 points while also grabbing seven rebounds and making six blocks on defense.

Aubrey Olander pitched in with six points while topping the team in rebounding with nine and swiping four steals.
