Despite playing without a key player, the Inman boys showed why they are ranked 7th in Class 2A on Friday as they went on the road and beat Berean Academy by 24 points, 52-28.

The victory moves the Teutons to 11-2 for the season as they prep for a big week next week when they battle Bennington on Monday and then Moundridge in an inter-county rivalry on Friday.

Jace Doerksen was unable to go because of the sore ankle, but Eli Brunk and Tanner Heckel picked up the offense by scoring 16 and 12 points respectively. Dawson Mannebach just missed double digits with nine.

The Teutons jumped out to a nine-point, 15-6 lead by the end of the first quarter and held a 17-point, 25-8 advantage at the half. Berean put more than half their points on the board in the third quarter with 15 but Inman added 19 to their total as they cruised in for the final 24-point win.

“We played well again tonight,” noted Teuton head coach Brett Froese. “I was a little nervous going into the game without Jace (Doerksen) who just could not go with his ankle. I challenged the guys to all step up in his place and they really did. We were really good on the defensive end and might have been the best we have moved the ball on offense while really attacking them going downhill. If we can continue to get that production inside we are much harder to defend.”
