LYONS – After a sluggish first quarter, the Smoky Valley boys bounced back on Tuesday and dominated the final three quarters to score a 12-point, 45-33 road victory at Lyons.

Trailing by six, 14-8 at the end of the first quarter, the Vikings held Lyons to just six second quarter points while putting 16 on the board themselves to gain a four-point, 24-20 advantage at the halftime break.

Coming out of the intermission, Smoky Valley out scored Lyons 21-13 in the final sixteen minutes of play to earn the final 12-point win.

Trayton Miller led the Vikings offense with 17 points thanks to making five three-pointers, three of which came in the second quarter. Also reaching double digits was Karson Pihl with 14.

The win helps the Vikings up their season record to the .500 mark at 8-8. They now prep for a return to the home court on Friday when they play host to Nickerson.
