WHITEWATER – The Smoky Valley girl wrestlers continue to have a solid season as they placed third at the Class 4-3-2-1A State Regionals on Saturday at Whitewater.

The Lady Vikings rolled up 84 points with three third place finishes by Lydia Peterson, Kylie Tolle, and Madi Tolle. Two others, Kenzie Crain and Taytum Reed placed fourth.

All five of the Lady Vikings finishing fourth or better will now travel to the State Class 4-3-2-1A Meet in Salina on February 23-24.

As a team the Lady Vikings finished behind Pratt and Wellington but ahead of Mulvane, Douglass, and McPherson as 25 teams competed.

Team Standings (Top 10): 1. Pratt 173; 2. Wellington 104; 3. LADY VIKINGS 84; 4. Mulvane 81; 5. Douglass 70; 6. McPherson 63; 7. Leon/Bluestem 46; 8. Winfield 44; 9. Council Grove 40; 10. Augusta 39.

LADY VIKINGS REGIONAL INDIVIDUAL RESULTS:

101 lbs. = Kenzie Crain went 2-2 and placed 4th – State Qualified.

109 lbs. = Noelle Peters went 2-2.

120 lbs. = Taytum Reed went 3-2 and placed 4th – State Qualified.

138 lbs. = Alaina Haigh went 3-2.

155 lbs. = Lydia Peterson went 4-1 and placed 3rd – State Qualified.

170 lbs. = Kylie Tolle went 3-1 and placed 3rd – State Qualified.

191 lbs. = Madi Tolle went 4-1 and placed 3rd – State Qualified.
